When Nancy reached out after finding me on Google (yay for SEO doing the heavy lifting!), she told me it had been over a decade since her family had professional photos taken. Her twin sons were both home from college—one just days away from leaving for a semester in China—and she wanted to make sure they captured this rare time with everyone under one roof.
What she didn’t mention right away was that this family would end up being one of my absolute favorites to photograph.
The Hagermans were warm, funny, and clearly full of love. The twins brought an easygoing energy—lots of sibling jokes and natural smiles—and their younger sister, still in high school, was just as joyful and down-to-earth. It was easy to see how much she looks up to her older brothers, and even easier to see how much they adore her in return.
Nancy and her husband were clearly still deeply in love, and their family dynamic was refreshingly lighthearted. No one took themselves too seriously, which always makes for the most honest, fun sessions. There was so much laughter, so much connection—and the kind of ease that only comes from years of loving each other well.
I walked away from this session smiling, feeling lucky to do what I do: freeze time for families who truly enjoy being together.
