Finding Ink by Emma: Tattoos, Talent & a Creative Collaboration at Chasing Cali
One of my favorite ways to discover new creative connections is through Instagram—and that’s where I stumbled upon Ink by Emma. Her feed was full of charm, personality, and gorgeous artwork, but what immediately caught my eye were her tattoos. They were playful, magical, and so her. I didn’t even have to scroll long before I knew—I wanted to collaborate with her.
We met up at Chasing Cali to talk ideas, share inspiration, and get to know each other’s creative energy. The vibe was perfect: coffee shop coziness, natural light, and that spark of excitement that comes from working with someone who just gets it.
Emma brought her iPad and started sketching—this sweet little bunny surrounded by flowers and a bee—while I grabbed my camera and captured her in her element. Her signature sun-and-stars tattoos, gold hoops, and soft curls made for the most photogenic and authentic content. We also did some casual branding shots: Emma smiling, relaxed, and showing off her effortlessly cool presence.
This is exactly why I love doing content photography for small businesses. Whether it’s an artist like Ink by Emma, a maker, or a coach—people deserve photos that feel like them. Not stock images. Not okay-ish iPhone shots. Real, vibrant, brand-reflecting visuals that elevate websites, social feeds, and everything in between.
